Responsibilities

Below is a list of your responsibilities as a RN Program Manager Addictions Medicine with Corizon Health:

  • Directs the day-by-day activities of the assigned staff.

  • Coordinates the total health care delivery system with the other functions within the region.

  • Develops the contract services budget for the state region.

  • Manages the financial performance of the state region.

  • Reports monthly to the Vice President regarding the following:

  • Budget variances

  • Progress on the plan

  • Action of the Medical Audit Committee

  • Pertinent changes affecting the contract

  • Activities of all health services department

  • Provides administrative support for the Medical Director

  • Meets with the Secretary of DOC or his designee, to effect the liaison of services within the state.

  • Assists in recruiting employees and independent contractors as needed, with assistance from the Human Resources Department in the hiring and termination of all employees or independent contractors.

  • Assist Pharmacy in assuring proper staffing and effective, efficient purchasing and distribution of pharmaceuticals.

  • Maintains membership in the state at each correctional facility and provides the administrative support for their activities.

  • Coordinates the implementation of an annual in-service training program for the state region.

  • Assists in managing and administering the Behavioral Health Program for the DOC system.

  • Assists in coordinating activities with hospital administrators and the delivery of services at hospitals outside of the institution. When appropriate, negotiate third party contracts of the institution.

  • Coordinates the annual health services planning process.

  • Conducts annual contract plan performance evaluation.

  • Screens, interviews and assures the orientation of new administrative personnel.

  • Attends quarterly and staff meetings.

  • Makes recommendations for the improvement of services to the Vice President.

  • Serves as the information resource during contract negotiations with the state.

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

  • Other duties as assigned by management

Experience & Requirements

  • RN Licensure

  • MHA, MBA or equivalent academic background and management experience relative to health care setting.

  • Experience using Excel, Word, and Outlook

  • Effective time management skills

  • Correctional officers provide security; however, some degree of risk of verbal and physical assault from inmates exists. As in any healthcare setting, employees may be exposed to communicable and/or infectious diseases. Inside work with periodic traveling (inter and intra state) to other locations with exposure to weather, temperature extremes and hazardous road conditions. Frequent standing and walking while presenting or performing job duties. Adheres to site/contract specific on-call requirements.

  • No unusual physical requirements. Requires no heavy lifting, and nearly all work is performed in an office environment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. Frequently required to sit, use hands/fingers to handle or feel, and talk/hear. Requires critical thinking, organizational, decisive judgment, communication, good customer service skills. Must be able to handle multiple tasks, be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate actions as needed. Must follow Corizon and departmental policies and procedures at all times.

A background check, security clearance and drug screening are required for this role.
