Corizon Health has a exceptional opportunity for a full time Substance Abuse Supervisor (CSC-AD,LCADC) at the Baltimore City Booking and Intake Facility in Baltimore, MD. The qualified candidate must have a be a Certified Supervising Counselor-Alcohol and Drug Additions.
Serves as the methadone program health authority. Responsible for the delivery of contracted
services in the licensed methadone program. Provides coordination of substance abuse withdrawal/psychiatric/behavioral health services and programs.
A. Supports, and provides direction for the methadone program and health care delivery
B. system coordinating with the other functions within the institution.
C. Ensures compliance with the federal regulation of methadone treatment, State of
D. Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene compliance standards and
E. correctional system regulations policies and procedures.
F. Meets with Administrator and facility Warden to assure open communication.
G. Develops regional operational plans and policies.
H. Monitors the activities of the Methadone program and health staff. Provides direction
I. and monitors staff to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
J. Meets regularly with the site health staff to ensure appropriate provision of services.
K. Coordinates training for methadone, health and institutional staff on health and
L. substance abuse issues as requested.
M. Provides consultation services to institutional staff for health and substance abuse
N. issues as requested.
O. Develops and maintains a system to provide 24-hour health consultation services to
P. institutional staff in situations requiring immediate crisis intervention.
Q. Follows and enforces security regulations for keys, sharps, and controlled medications.
R. Adheres to and enforces safety and security policies and participates in disaster drills.
S. Attends mandatory and optional in-service training.
T. Participates in and conducts in-service programs.
U. Maintains open lines of communication via attendance at staff meeting when possible.
V. Attends mandatory in-services on annual basis.
W. Provides direct assistance to the Administrator in administration, planning,
X. management and delivery of health and substance abuse services at the facility
Z. Contributes to health program development and evaluation.
AA. Adheres to safety and security policies and participates in disaster drills.
BB. Provides documentation in accordance with unit policies and procedures.
CC. Monitors and insures the appropriate utilization of medications.
Experience & Requirements
Must have a master’s degree.
Must hold a CSC-AD license in the state of Maryland.
Certified in the State of Maryland as a Certified Supervised Counselor-Alcohol and Drug, requires 24 credits from an accrediting school, and achieve a passing score on the NCAC (National Certified Addiction Counselor) Level 1 Exam.
At least 3 years supervisory experience as a LCADC-Supervisor. Knowledge and skills to access, diagnose and treat medical and substance abuse issues, and have knowledge and experience with the special needs and behavior of individuals in forensic and correctional settings undergoing withdrawal from substances. Prior experience in a methadone program required.
