This employee performs general clerical work that follows prescribed or well-established procedures. Work involves MS Office applications and the operation of simple office machines. Detailed instructions are given at the beginning of work and on subsequent new assignments. After becoming familiar with particular procedures, the employee normally works independently on the more routine aspects of the work. Assignments involving more difficult tasks are given closer supervision than those are more routine.
*Sorts and files correspondence and documents related to the infection control program alphabetically, numerically, or by other established classifications; removes and returns material from files; prepares file folders by subject, name or other headings.
*Receives, opens, logs, sorts, time-stamps, and distributes mail relating to the infection control program: computes and maintains records of postage expenses; operates a postage meter machine.
*Sorts, collates and assembles duplicated material in accordance with specific instructions or established procedures.
*Addresses envelopes or other mailers following an established list; stuffs envelopes and seals mail for outgoing delivery.
*Provides messenger service for the infection control program, delivering messages, parcels, mail and other similar items within a state facility or to various state agency locations.
*Tracks all data on Infection Control spreadsheets and generates reports.
*Answers telephone and relay calls or takes messages relating to the infection control program.
*Makes elementary arithmetic calculations following specific instructions.
*Posts a variety of routine information and data in connection with the maintenance of infection control records.
*Operates a variety of simple office machines and equipment, such as photocopiers, decollators, detachers, book binders, and trimmers.
