The Director of Behavioral Health Community Corrections position provides program leadership and development for evidence-based behavioral health services across an expansive national network of jails, which includes in-jail services as well as the development of robust reentry programming to foster the wellness and safety of individuals transitioning from incarceration to the community. This remote, telecommuting position reports to the Senior Vice President of Behavioral Health and requires the ability to travel.
Provides clinical and administrative support and consultation to site staff, regional administrators and other Healthcare Support Team members
Interdisciplinary consultation, including close collaboration with operations management and regionaalpsychiatric directors
Develops and lead high priority projects related to the behavioral health service
Participates in and leads various interdisciplinary and behavioral health-specific committees
Develops and revises behavioral health policy and procedures
Develops and delivers trainings and presentations
Supports staff in preparation of audits and reviews
Participates in business development efforts
Other duties as assigned
Experience & Requirements
Master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or related field from an accredited college or university with an active license to practice. Doctoral degree preferred.
Minimum of 8 years’ experience administering a behavioral health program, with correctional experience preferred. Less than 8 years’ of administrative experience may be acceptable if leadership was in correctional healthcare.
Ability to travel frequently, principally to correctional facilities.
This is a remote, telecommuting position with regular travel, including to correctional institutions. Within correctional institutions, correctional officers provide security; however, some degree of risk of verbal and physical assault from inmates exists. As in any healthcare setting, employees may be exposed to communicable and/or infectious diseases. Inside work with periodic traveling (inter and intra state) to other locations with exposure to weather, temperature extremes and hazardous road conditions. Frequent standing and walking while presenting or performing job duties. Adheres to site/contract specific on-call requirements.
