We have an exceptional opportunity for a full time ACA Coordinator to join our healthcare team at the Kent County Correctional Center located in Grand Rapids, MI.

Available hours: 8am-4:30pm

Qualifications of the Corizon Health ACA Coordinator

  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • At least one year experience in a health care environment
  • Subject to initial and ongoing security clearance requirements

Job Summary of the Corizon Health ACA Coordinator

The ACA Coordinator assists individuals in obtaining private insurance for purposes of inpatient hospitalization. They assist and maintain reports for site management and correctional administration. Maintains all provider sick call logs and creates appointments schedule based on NCCHC standard and medical/mental health needs. Assists nursing staff in health care unit with all clerical functions, including filing pertinent health information, answering phones, faxing for requested health information and all other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities of the Corizon Health ACA Coordinator

  • Identify all individuals with offsite emergent care or hospitalization
  • Verify all insurance information
  • If Medicaid is identified as active or inactive; communicate current patient ID number to the care facility.
  • Create and maintain communication with all care facilities to ensure proper insurance is billed and/or Medicaid application is initiated.
  • Maintain a list of all individuals screened for insurances, insurance carriers, and insurance ID numbers.
  • Send insurance reports daily to site management and weekly to administration.
  • Maintain all provider lists (i.e., MDSC, Psych Nurse, Nursing sick call, Dental sick call).
  • Order and maintain par levels for all medical supplies.
  • All other duties as assigned.
