Qualifications of the Corizon Health Accountant II

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • 3+ years' experience in accounting
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel required, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, N-Vision, PeopleSoft preferred.

Responsibilities of the Corizon Health Accountant II

The Corizon Health Operations Finance Accountant II is responsible for the accounting and financial analysis of assigned contracts/cost centers. This includes monthly closing, preparing and analyzing financial statements for actual to budget variances, preparing cost trend analysis, client specific reports and account reconciliations.

  • Responsible for entire accounting process and analysis for multiple contracts and/or multiple regions / statewide contract systems.
  • Responsible for complete monthly closing process for assigned contract(s) in Region/State, to include revenue, compensation, contract medical, malpractice, medical, pharmacy, IBNRs, and other accounts.
  • Prepare consolidated financial statements and reports regarding budget vs. actual variance analysis.
  • Review and participate in budgeting process as necessary, adhering to all deadlines established.
  • Prepare and/or review monthly account reconciliations, ensuring all related expenses and revenues are booked accurately and on time including accruals.
  • Provide various financial analysis support to Senior Director Financial Operations as requested.
  • Responsible for timely completion and accuracy of all monthly, quarterly and yearly reports, invoices, client aggregate/individual cap reports, and various wire transfers.
  • Mine large amounts of internal/external data and present summaries, key components and trends and their relevance to future RFP/rebid pricing.
  • Provide comparative analysis on key assumptions for variable cost components, staffing ratios and salary information. Provide summary of issues surrounding comparable data and support for recommended cost components. Gather data and provide costing analysis for negotiation with key subcontractors and providers to be utilized in responses to RFP/rebid.
  • Responsible for approval and recording of accurate and timely inventories.
  • Provide approvals for accounts payable invoices to ensure correct account codes, cost centers, timely vendor payment.
  • Issue invoices to clients including related bill-backs accurately and timely.
  • Accountable for understanding and 'ownership' of assigned contract(s), ensuring contract summaries are up to date, accurate awareness of termination dates, revenue changes, contract exclusions, and cap structure.
  • Provide operations accounting management with all relative dates and information pertaining to contract(s).
  • Interpret and provide financial and/or accounting training/orientation to site management.
  • Compile financial analysis to support contract renewals and upgrades.
  • Assist in completion of special projects on as needed basis.
