We have an exceptional opportunity for an Assistant Health Service Administrator (AHSA) to join our healthcare team at the Arizona State Prison-Lewis Complex in Buckeye, AZ.

Qualifications of the Corizon Health Assistant Health Service Administrator (AHSA)

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Master's degree from an accredited college or university may substitute for one year of the required experience
  • Two (2) years responsible health administrative experience in personnel, budget analysis, purchasing, accounting, or related administrative work.
  • Computer literate with working knowledge of Excel
  • Requires critical thinking, organizational, decisive judgment, communication, good customer service skills. Must be able to handle multiple tasks, be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate actions as needed. Must follow hospital and departmental policies and procedures at all times.
  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Responsibilities of the Corizon Health Assistant Health Service Administrator (AHSA)

  • The Assitant Health Services Administrator assists the Health Administrator by performing assigned correctional health administrative duties that may include budgetary, accounting, purchasing, payroll or related services.
  • Possesses supervisory skills and be adept at problem solving and crisis management among other duties.
  • Directs and participates in a variety of administrative and correctional health management functions involving the making of administrative decisions.
  • In the absence of the Facility Health Administrator would be responsible for facility health administration.
  • Assists Health Administrator in formulating and implementing policies and procedures relative to the site's correctional health care to maintain a safe and secure environment.
  • Consults with unit supervisors on administrative problems and procedures and assists in developing and implementing improvements.
  • Assists the Health Administrator in accounting and bookkeeping duties and the preparation of financial statements and statistical reports.
  • Assists in inventory and tool control, purchasing supplies, and facilitates any assigned special studies and reports.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
