Qualifications of the Clinical Pharmacy Technician

A current, unrestricted license in state. Experience and/or knowledge of managed care pharmacy. Thorough knowledge of all applicable State/Federal laws, rules and regulations. Proven experience as pharmacy technician

Job Summary

Under the supervision of the clinical pharmacist, provides nondiscretionary functions associated with the practice of pharmacy. Corizon clinical department establish technical standards and essential functions to ensure that clinical pharmacy technicians have the abilities required to be successful in all aspects of the clinical programs. Clinical pharmacy technicians are required to meet technical standards and essential functions set forth by Corizon clinical department as indicated below.

Responsibilities of the Clinical Pharmacy Technician

  • Perform the pharmacy technician functions set forth by the Corizon non-formulary review committee.
  • Be able to manage the use of time and be able to systemize actions in order to complete professional and technical tasks within realistic constraints.
  • Read and comprehend text, numbers, and graphs displayed in print and on video monitor.
  • Read and comprehend technical and professional materials (i.e. textbooks, journal articles, handbooks, and instruction manuals.)
  • Follow verbal and written instructions in order to correctly and independently perform pharmacy procedures.
  • Communicate with staff and other health care professionals verbally and in a recorded format (writing, typing, and graphics.)
  • Independently prepare pharmacy reports.
  • Adheres to safety and security policies.
  • Ability to deal with and respond to stressful situations in a stressful environment.
  • Stays focused, productive and accurate in high volume environment.
  • Be flexible and creative and adapt to professional and technical changes.
  • Requires regular and reliable attendance.
