We have an exceptional opportunity for a Dental Hygienist to join our healthcare team at Pocatello Women's Correctional Center located in Pocatello, ID.

This positions shift is 8am-2pm.

Qualifications of the Corizon Health Dental Hygienist

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of an accredited Dental Hygienist program
  • At least one (1) year experience as a Dental Hygienist
  • Must receive a satisfactory background investigation report.

Responsibilities of the Corizon Health Dental Hygienist

  • Performs technical and advisory service in oral or dental hygiene involving oral prophylaxis under supervision of registered dentist.
  • Performs educational and organizational work in promoting oral hygiene
  • Scales and polishes teeth and roots. Removes sutures. Takes study models. Polishes amalgam restorations. Places and removes rubber dams.
  • Assists dentist in administering fluoride treatments. Develops oral hygiene education program for patients.
  • Assists dentist in completing diagnostic x-rays.
  • Records all aspects of treatment provided and other pertinent information in the patient's dental record.
  • Initiates and maintains recall program for additional instructions and treatment for patients whose condition and/or attitude indicate a need. Also a follow-up prophylaxis treatment in a specific time interval.
  • Checks and maintains instruments, equipment and supplies including ordering replacements and submitting work orders.
  • Ensures proper clean-up, packaging and sterilizing of instruments. Maintains a clean and orderly working environment. Instructs dental assistant in proper techniques and other training as directed
  • Performs dental assessments when required.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned.
