We have an exceptional opportunity for a Senior Accountant to join our Healthcare Support Team in Brentwood, TN.

Responsible for the accounting and financial analysis of assigned contracts/cost centers, including monthly closing, preparing and analyzing financial statements for actual to budget variance along with cost trend analysis, preparing account reconciliations and client financial reporting information.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for entire accounting process and analysis of multiple contracts.
  • Responsible for complete monthly closing process for assigned contracts in region, to include revenue, compensation, contract medical, malpractice, pharmacy, IBNR and other accounts.
  • Prepare consolidated financial statements and reports verbally and in writing regarding budget variance analysis.
  • Review and participate in budgeting process, adhering to all deadlines established.
  • Prepare monthly account reconciliations on time and accurately ensuring all related expenses and revenue are booked accurately including accruals.
  • Complete monthly detailed review of massive data files for paid claims and pharmacy services, identifying all errors and ensuring corrections are completed timely
  • Interact with IT and claims staff to identify necessary process changes, test and validate implementation
  • Provide frequent ad hoc client reporting using massive data files with tight deadlines
  • Responsible for timely completion and accuracy of all monthly reports, client aggregates/individual cap reports and various write transfers.
  • Responsible for generation of timeliness and accuracy of quarterly reports
  • Responsible for generation of timeliness and accuracy of inventories, where applicable.
  • Provide approvals for accounts payable invoices ensuring correct account codes, timely vendor payment and follow-through to resolution on vendor-related issues that may arise.
  • Accountable for understanding and 'ownership' of assigned contracts, ensuring contract summaries are up to date, accurate awareness of termination dates, revenue changes and cap structures.
  • Interpret and provide financial and/or accounting training/orientation to site/regional management in writing and verbally and answers all questions accurately and timely.


  • Education: Undergraduate degree in Accounting required.
  • Experience Level: Minimum 5+ years of experience in operations accounting required
  • Tools and Technology: Advanced Excel, Word, Outlook, PeopleSoft Financials, Nvision preferred.
  • Problem-solving skills including strong analytical, technical, and independent decision making ability. Must be able to adapt to changing and fast-paced environment, working independently.
