Qualifications of the Corizon Health Lead Senior Talent Management Specialist

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Education or related major required.
  • Five (5) years' experience of relevant experience e.g. adult education / development, talent management practices, training or academic teaching required.
  • Intermediate to advance ability to use MS Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel). Experience with Learning Management System functionality and administration tasks preferred.
  • Experience facilitating Virtual/Web training preferred.
  • Ability to effectively present information one-on-one and small or large group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to facilitate management level meetings and/or programs
  • Demonstrated ability to research, synthesize, and analyze information from diverse sources and apply to the correctional setting. Must be able to read, comprehend, and write instructor and participant learning materials, programs, and courses.
  • Skilled in oral and written communications.
  • Must appropriately respond to stressful issues and situations.
  • Travel may be required.

Job Description

Reports to: Director, Training and Organization Development

The Sr. Talent Management and Development Specialist will plan, organize, and implement a range of training and development activities, talent management initiatives and support onboarding, technical training, and leadership development. He/she will be responsible for leading instructor-led classroom and virtual (webinar) training events, participating in talent reviews and succession planning meetings, and researching and advising on leadership development programs. He/She will serve as a training and development Subject Matter Expert, SME, and work collaboratively with our clinical education team to advise and create high-quality training materials that achieve the desired workplace performance outcomes. The Sr. Talent Management and Development specialist will utilize the Learning Management System (LMS) to communicate training activities and events, track participation, and provide reports.

Responsibilities of the Corizon Health Lead Senior Talent Management Specialist

  • Review, evaluate and modify / enhance existing and proposed training programs and courses; recommend and coordinate program / course changes
  • Serve as a learning and development subject matter expert for clinical and operations leaders (Health Service Administrator, Director of Nursing, Healthcare Support)
  • Conduct research / literature reviews to identify new information, best practices, case studies etc. to enhance Corizon learning processes and programs; identify opportunities to reuse / repurpose content already developed.
  • With oversight, participate in talent reviews (9 box) activities and succession planning. Provide advice on career development plans. Develop content / write materials, determine instructional methods, and select or develop participant guides and teaching aids.
  • Confer with management and employees to gain knowledge of region, site, or function-specific situations requiring training; develop / implement / conduct specialized training programs to meet these needs
  • Develop and execute existing and new approaches to instructor-led classroom and virtual training events
  • May deliver "technical" training (Microsoft Office, Access, etc.), and assist with / provide back-up for delivery of other programs and courses as needed
  • Leverage LMS capability to track, monitor, and prepare reports to communicate participation in training programs and e-learning courses. Use the data captured in LMS to inform talent management practices and programs
  • Design and implement follow-up activities and methodologies to strengthen and sustain application of skills and knowledge developed in training programs and courses. Measure learning transfer and make recommendations to improve results
  • Contribute to development and communication of role based curriculum. Introduce methods to reinforce training and development initiatives to increase companywide knowledge of our business / industry, and to support ongoing skill development.
  • Participate in special training and development projects and initiatives as assigned.
