Corizon Health has an opening for a Senior Project Manager to join our team at our corporate office in Brentwood, TN.

Qualifications of the Corizon Health Senior Project Manager

  • Bachelor's Degree in IT, Business Administration, or Healthcare. Master's preferred. 5+ years of proven successful project management experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • 5+ years PM experience with 3-4 years software development/business analysis.
  • 4 years of healthcare experience with EHR Implementations.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Visio, and knowledge of VB, SQL, reporting/query tools.
  • General knowledge in software development methodologies, design and implementation. General understanding of entire software development process including specification, documentation and quality assurance.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) and/or PMI Agile Certified Practitioner preferred.
  • Occasional travel up to 20% to: correctional facilities, regional offices, client and/or vendor sites. Subject to after-hours work to meet deadlines.
  • Exceptional verbal and written and presentation communication skills. Effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization with gravitas and confidence.

Job Description

Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of Corizon Health EHR Implementation Projects, technology projects and business development activities ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments and goals. Manage cross-functional business and IT resources and clients' resources to define initial project scope and to deliver solution within scope, on time and on budget. Plan, direct and execute aspects of significantly complex, multifaceted/interrelated projects according to Project Management Institute (PMI) guidelines and Corizon Health Standards. Projects may span multiple department boundaries. Acquire, schedule, communicate and coordinate with resources including team members, third-party contractors, consultants and clients in order to deliver projects according to defined scope, quality, time, and budget. Manage all changes through change control processes with complete understanding of impacts to schedule, personnel and costs.

Responsibilities of the Corizon Health Senior Project Manager

  • Direct and manage full project lifecycle--initiation, planning, executing, controlling and closure-- from beginning to completed delivery and acceptance. This will include EHR implementations and other projects as assigned.
  • Develop project initiation deliverables including feasibility studies, risk assessment and mitigation, project initiation reports, staffing, project organization outline, and quality standards, testing and quality control procedures to include communication to all stakeholders, team members and internal/external customers.
  • Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Develop detailed project plans and associated communications documents to ensure visibility into the budget and progress according to plan.
  • Draft and submit budget proposals, and recommend subsequent budget changes, where necessary. Manage and report on the budget for each project.
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion. Liaise with project stakeholders throughout project lifecycle.
  • Estimate the resources and identifies participants needed to achieve project goals. Where required, negotiate with other department managers for the acquisition of required personnel from within the company. Determine and assess need for additional staff and/or consultants and initiate recruiting efforts if appropriate, during project cycle.
  • Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders.
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
  • Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.
  • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.
  • Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools. Track project milestones and deliverables.
  • Develop and deliver status reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
  • Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout project life cycle.
  • Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
  • Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project.
  • Conduct project post analysis and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
  • Work with the team to assist in the development of best practices and tools for project execution and management.
  • Gathering data for development of cost benefit and return-on-investment modeling and analysis for proposed systems to aid management in making decisions.
  • Completion of special projects as assigned.
  • Mentor team members and provide peer review and feedback as needed.
