Responsibilities

Below is a list of your responsibilities as a day-shift (7:00am - 3:30pm) Mental Health Clerk with Corizon Health:

  • Log requests for offsite and diagnostic studies. Maintain mental health clinic logs and ensure that appointments are scheduled according to DOC protocols.

  • Assist nurses and other staff in issuing and tracking minor medical equipment (e.g. heating pads).

  • Collect data from ER logs, segregation logs, etc. for monthly QI reporting.

  • Coordinate the scheduling of on-site specialty appointments (e.g. X-ray, physical therapy, medical-surgical subspecialties).

  • Answer telephone calls, take messages and make telephone calls as needed. Type correspondence, reports or memorandums, as needed. Order, receive and maintain office supplies.

  • Maintain roster or appointment book based on scheduled appointments, both offsite and onsite, as needed.

  • Update medical diet lists, as needed.

  • Other related duties as requested by Supervisors or Health Services Administrator

Experience & Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent

  • At least one year of experience in a mental health care environment.

A background check, security clearance and drug screening are required for this role.
